Intriguing Ambiance
On February 5th, 26, 2005, curious people entered CHRONICLES OF CRIME, a new and used mystery bookstore owned and operated by Frances Thorsen. Her initial puzzled frown turned into a smile of delight when we presented the balloon bouquet and announced that her shop was chosen 'Best-of-the-Bunch'.

An enthusiastic school teacher, Frances offers special evening events with local author readings and signings, as well as discussions—a great opportunity to mix and mingle with other fans of the genre and trade book recommendations.
Frances invites school tours and recently had some native students visit who became so excited by the books that they decided to collaboratively write a mystery involving their culture, effectively creating a school project combining reading, writing and preservation of native tradition. How cool is that!
The store opens early so people can drop in before work, after their bakery stop.
Soon to celebrate its first anniversary, Chronicles of Crime has loyal customers all across Canada - no doubt based on Frances' excellent customer service.
Chronicles of Crime further boasts gift baskets and a collectibles section with books priced from $8 for vintage paperbacks, hardbacks, first printings and author-signed selections.
