On May 7th, 2005, 23 people surprised the mom and daughter team at Charelli's Delicatessen with the announcement they had been chosen 'Best of the Bunch'.
Charelli's Delicatessen is a 17-month old mom-and-daughter establishment run by Carmen Lassooij and Nicole Ingram. The tiny deli barely accommodates five customers at a time, yet offers a dizzying selection of gourmet and locally produced organic, special diet and import products, as well as a large variety of exotic cheeses. Be sure to ask for a sample of their amazing Mango and Ginger stilton!
We know Charelli's already has a faithful following because several people recommended it for Graping! Their very loyal customers reported that Carmen and Nicole go out of their way to find and order specific and hard-to-find requests. They also offer customers a punch card that gives 100 grams of cheese or meat free for every 1000 grams they purchase.
Custom-build your sandwich at Charelli's, then buy your favorite hot beverage at Toria's Coffee House just three doors down. This is one of the rare times that you're invited to buy food at one establishment, then eat it at another--how cool is that! Their arrangement is win-win-win for everyone...
